Minneapolis — Prep Network announced this week that Ryan James is joining as a full-time employee, effective October 1.
RJ has contributed to Prep Network since 2012, beginning as the lead writer for the first state website, Northstar Hoops, covering boys basketball in Minnesota. He’s led the site for nearly 10 years, in addition to leading Prep Hoops Dakotas and compiling the Prep Hoops National Rankings. He’s also taken a leadership role on the Prep Hoops Circuit, traveling the country as a lead scout and covering events from coast to coast throughout the spring and summer.
“RJ is the representation of the Prep Network mission in the flesh,” Prep Network Co-Founder and CGO Nick Carroll said. “Since 2012, he has been a fixture on the content side of the house, while building relationships with grassroots programs across the country.”
James will maintain his presence in the Minnesota high school basketball scene in his new role, as well as updating the National Rankings and serving as a national scout on the Prep Hoops Circuit.
Additionally, RJ will manage all business development and account-management responsibilities pertaining to grassroots boys basketball programs nationally.
“To have RJ join our events team in a full-time capacity not only warms my heart but more importantly, will bring tremendous value to our attending programs,” Carroll added. “This hire puts us at a different level as a grassroots operator.”
