Minneapolis — Prep Network announced a role and title change for Chris Fitzgerald this week. Formerly the General Manager of Prep Dig, Fitzgerald will now be the Prep Dig National Analyst.
Earlier this summer, Zach Colston was brought aboard to oversee all Prep Dig events, enabling “Fitz” to focus more on content and coverage. Fitzgerald and Colston will work together with the Prep Network Events team and Content team to maximize the value for high school volleyball players and clubs on Prep Dig’s network of websites and tournaments on the Prep Dig Circuit.
Fitzgerald first joined Prep Dig in 2017, launching and leading all coverage and rankings Prep Dig Wisconsin website. It quickly became the largest site in the Prep Dig network and one of the leaders across the company’s 120 sites.
“Fitz has played an integral part in turning Prep Dig into the go-to national source for volleyball coverage,” Prep Network Co-founder and CEO Jake Phillips said. “He has made a positive impact on the recruitment of hundreds of players over the past few years thanks to his tireless work ethic and unmatched time in the gym.”
He was hired full-time in 2018 in the General Manager role, continuing his coverage on Prep Dig Wisconsin but extending his knowledge throughout the midwest and contributing to sites across the network. Fitzgerald also was instrumental in the launch of Prep Dig’s first tournaments and showcases, establishing partnerships and building rapport with club teams and industry leaders throughout the country. Since 2017, Fitzgerald has published close to 1,500 pieces on Prep Dig.
“Our Prep Dig team has been able to accomplish the past few years with the thousands of players our scouts have written about throughout high school and club volleyball,” Fitzgerald said. “I’m eager and excited to continue writing about the game and provide coverage locally as well as for players of all levels throughout the country.”
Colston’s addition will enable Fitzgerald to turn his attention more fully to the coverage side of Prep Dig, as he continues to expand his knowledge country-wide. Fitzgerald is excited to expand the breadth of Prep Dig coverage to include states newer to Prep Dig, rolling out national rankings and appealing to wider audiences.
